You have taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book?

It seems that there is a bottle of our tears stored up in heaven. Does that mean that the tears of His saints are effective? Are they actually part of our prayer and intercession? I think they definitely are. I will never forget the time the Lord moved on my heart with prayers and tears for my mom. I was riding in the back of a pickup truck on a logging road. It was a cold winter night near Coos Bay, Oregon and I was part of a reforestation team planting trees to raise funds for our Bible School. We had gone into town, about an hour and a half drive, for some business. I rode in the back on the way home, that’s when the Lord began to move upon my heart. I had no idea something was wrong, but a love and a desire to pray fell on me. I prayed for a good while and then it lifted. It wasn’t for a few weeks until I heard from home, we were in total communication isolation in these tree planting camps. My mom had a stroke and wasn’t expected to live. I was able to make travel plans and return home, apparently to say good bye to my mom. When I got back to NOLA my mom was still in a coma, not expected to recover. I will never forget what happened when I went by myself into the intensive care unit at Baptist Hospital. As soon as I took her by the hand and began to pray, she opened her eyes, she had suddenly awakened from her coma. Boy was I shocked, I thought I was going to say good bye but it was really “hello”. The Lord gave my mom another ten years of life, I think I know what those tears in the pickup truck were all about.
Has the Lord ever given you His tears? Maybe for a lost child, or for a sick friend. Has he ever given you tears for a stranger, maybe for a homeless man or a lost young women enslaved in drugs and prostitution? Tears can be supernatural, they can be the compassion of Jesus bringing freedom to someone trapped in the snares of this life. There is a popular song about the “Tears of the Saints” by Leeland, pay attention to these words, maybe the Lord will give you some of His tears.

There are many prodigal sons
On our city streets they run
Searching for shelter
There are homes broken down
People’s hopes have fallen to the ground
From failures

This is an emergency!

There are tears from the saints
For the lost and unsaved
We’re crying for them come back home
We’re crying for them come back home
And all your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home

There are schools full of hatred
Even churches have forsaken
Love and mercy
May we see this generation
In it’s state of desperation
For Your glory

This is an emergency!

Sinner, reach out your hands!
Children in Christ you stand!
Sinner, reach out your hands!
Children in Christ you stand!

And all Your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home

Pay close attention to the people the Lord brings into your life today. Look at their faces. As you see beyond their symptoms into their soul, you may begin to store up some tears in that heavenly bottle, you may understand the power of the TEARS OF THE SAINTS.

  1. Today this touched me on burdens for people in my life, its good to pray until the burden is lifted and to keep praying, I have a son that is out there he left home and is 26, he left home about 19 to go to school, got away from the lord and is really messing up, this has the whole family worried ive told the ones in my family that know the lord to keep praying, he got into fast cars drugs booze and wild women alot like the prodical son did, he just got fired from his job hurt his hand where he may need surgery, got a 2nd driving under the influence while drag raceing down the road with another car, fights the meanest ones in the county and wins most the time I pray for his safety and that he will return to the lord, he wont come around me or his brothers and sisters he gets convicted he is wrong if he sees us, we all have relatives or know people like this keep praying for them

  2. Amen , I just want everyone to experience the the love and grace that Jesus has given to us. Our God is great but am convinced either some people are in denial about Jesus or just don’t believe what He has to offer. I just bumped up a notch and its intensifying . My chest is burning I’m starting to sweat I wanna go tell everyone about Jesus. There’s a homeless man named Robert and he al

  3. Today’s blog is just one more amazing confirmation that God does hear our prayers! He stores our prayers on heavenly shelves right next to our tears and the tears of our loved ones! Our tears and prayers are never forgotten by God. Never give up on the ones God has placed on your heart with prayer. There may be pain in the process, but Joy comes in the morning! He is faithful and everlasting!

  4. I weep all the time.. when I think of where I was and where I was going in life and how he’s picked me up in his gentle hands I weep. During a alter call once I was praying and the lady next to me was sobbing I began to pick up her emotions and the tears started to flow.I weep forw all my family members I know that don’t know Jesus.Sometimes I wonder why everyone is in great hysterics laughing and full of joy and service in an out I’m weeping …but I’ve recently heard he’s gotta empty us to fill us.I embrace the weeping and crying now. It’s an emotion that shows love and compassion for others.

  5. About 2 months ago, after a Sunday night service where a lot of people were experiencing the Joy of the Lord with laughing among other things, I was thinking about how long it had been since I had received this gift. I went home determined to press in and hopefully be filled with joy and laughing, because I had done lots of crying in God’s holy presence over the past year. So on Wednesday night before the service began, again I had determined in my heart, I’m going to go get some Joy. We’ll don’t you know there was a video after the offering from revival services in 1994 with a teen age girl who was under the power of the Holy Spirit, and began to speak under the Annointing about the heart of God towards His people. That did it, couldn’t hold back, rivers of crying, so much that I had to go get paper towels out of the men’s room. So in the midst of this I’m asking God what’s up with this, you know I was all set to receive your overwhelming joy. At the end (sometimes the best part, no offense Pastors) there was an alter call for something (I’m really not sure for what, but I was the first up to the alter) and I just blocked everything and everyone out and began praying, worshiping, and listening. Next thing you know I’m on the ground crying again, and the sweet voice of Jesus telling me to relax, that my earlier request of putting a soft, pliable heart in me was still under way.
