Matt.4 :12 – Now when Jesus heard that John had been taken into custody, He withdrew into Galilee; 13 – and leaving Nazareth, He came and settled in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali. 14 – This happened so that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled:
15 – “THE LAND OF ZEBULUN AND THE LAND OF NAPHTALI,
BY THE WAY OF THE SEA, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE JORDAN, GALILEE OF THE GENTILES—
16 – THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SITTING IN DARKNESS SAW A GREAT LIGHT,
AND THOSE WHO WERE SITTING IN THE LAND AND SHADOW OF DEATH,
UPON THEM A LIGHT DAWNED.”
17 – From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
Last night former President Trump survived an assassination attempt, at this point we have no idea the motive of the attempted assassination or if anyone else was behind the attempt, we all feel that this is an incredibly strong indication of the dangerous season we are in. At the bottom of this attempt this attack is not just an attack on President Trump and his political beliefs but it is a spirit of lawlessness that has gained a stronghold in our world. In the above passage of scripture we see a time of unprecedented darkness that was prevalent at the first coming of Christ. The spirit of the world would do anything to try to hinder the coming ministry of Jesus. John the Baptist had been taken into custody and was ultimately killed. Jesus was also killed by the inspiration of these same dark forces. We shouldn’t be surprised at the appearance of this same type of darkness in our present season. It is obvious that the spirit of the world is threatened by what is about to happen, the sudden appearance of Jesus in His glorious Second Coming is upon us.
I believe the Lord is orchestrating all of the chaos we see in our world today to prepare the hearts of our civilization for a great and final harvest. Rather than any political response we as Christians respond in a different way. We check ourselves first and our spiritual condition, repentance is a good place to start. We strengthen our relationship with our spiritual family, the church. The church community is essential in times like these. We find our place to serve in the house of God, get involved in a small group or a ministry and use your giftings to strengthen the church and reach others. Finally pray, recommit yourself to private and public prayer, if not now when? Hope to see you in church today.

Amen❤️.
