Heb.3:1 – Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession,
This verse is loaded with revelation but easy to skip over if you are not reflecting on the power of what is being said. First Paul is saying to stop and consider Jesus, take a good long look at who He is and what He brings to us. He says first to consider Him as our Apostle. Now an apostle is one who is sent out with a specific message. Jesus is the Father’s Apostle and His message is quite mind blowing. His message is God the Father. He is the word of the Father, the Father’s idea of Himself. His life is a constant declaration of the message, His very existence is God’s declaration of Himself. When we stop and consider Him we are flooded with the revelation of God. He is also the High Priest. He came and offered a better sacrifice than the blood of sheep and goats, He offered His own blood to bring us to God. He is seated in the heavenlies, at the Father’s right hand as our mediator and priest always interceding for us. As we consider Him we are brought near to the Father by His blood. This is the way in to the new and living way. Jesus is our Apostle and our High Priest. Here is a quote from Andrew Murray about this verse.
“As Apostle He is God’s Representative with us, making God known to us; as High Priest, our Representative with God, bringing us into His presence. As High Priest He stands linked to us by His mercy and compassion, as He now, having died for us, helps us in our temptation and weakness; as Apostle He pleads for God with us, and proves Himself entirely faithful to Him.”
In the letter of Hebrews Paul is wring to a church that had once walked in the power of God, after all the Day of Pentecost birthed this church in Jerusalem. As years went by offenses and the cares of the world had quenched the fire of Pentecost in Jerusalem. Paul wrote this letter as his response, he is calling the Jewish Christians back to the power of Pentecost. How could that happen. It was quite simple, CONSIDER JESUS. Consider Jesus as the Apostle and High Priest of their confession.

Love this. Considering Jesus is how I survive ❤️🩹❤️🔥🙌🏼
