HE OPENS HIS HAND…

Ps.145:15,16 – The eyes of all look to You,
And You give them their food in due time.
You open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

I never get tired of hearing God stories, I am sure that will be part of what eternity is all about, each of us rehearsing all the God stories from our adventures on earth. Recently I came across an article on Fox Digital News by Christine Rousselle. This is an excerpt of that article telling part of the story of Pastor Isik Abla and her journey from Turkey to becoming a pastor in America.

“A “simple yet profound” verse from the Bible “speaks to the core of our spiritual and physical sustenance, reminding us of God’s unwavering provision and care,” Pastor Işık Abla of Virginia told Fox News Digital. Abla is senior pastor of Dream Church International in Virginia Beach and the author of many Christian books. Born in Turkey and raised as a Muslim, she moved to America while fleeing an abusive marriage, as her website notes. Acknowledging God’s constant presence and care for humanity can be difficult, she said.  For Abla, this line from Psalm 145 “is not just a comforting phrase for me — it is a lifeline that has seen me through some of the darkest times of my life.”  She continued, “As a single mother, I faced challenges that seemed insurmountable. I remember the days when I was broke and struggled to provide for my daughter. There were times when I couldn’t see a way forward, yet God always provided. When it seemed there was no way, He made a way.” I’ll never forget the period when I was sleeping in my car with my daughter, feeling utterly helpless and lost,” she said.  “In the midst of that despair, God provided shelter for us. It was an act of divine intervention that reassured me of His constant watch over us.” 

Only Jesus could take an abused Muslim woman from Turkey who is a single mom and make her a Christian, a pastor, and an author in America. Hearing her story about living in a car with her daughter with no way to sustain herself is an amazing testimony that confirms today’s scripture. Ps.145:15 – “The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food in due time.” The Lord always shows compassion on those who are rejected and broken who turn their hearts toward Him. He not only met this desperate woman, He raised her up and made her one of His pastors, only the Lord could do that. Maybe you feel like that today, alone with no way to get yourself out of your circumstances. Look to the Lord, He is filled with compassion for the lowly. He will hear your cry and lift you up. Not only will He help you out of your situation, He will go above and beyond all of that so that everyone will know it was the Lord.
