THE GLORY OF THE FATHER
Heb. 1:1-3 ¶ God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Every few years I get the privilege of teaching the Hebrews class in our Bible School. It has always been my favorite class. Even though Hebrews was originally written for the jewish believers in Jerusalem almost 2000 years ago, the message is still relevant today. This letter was written to believers who had seen it all. After all, was there a greater revival church than the one in Jerusalem? Even this church was susceptible to spiritual apathy. They had experienced the greatest revival of all time and had heard the greatest of the apostolic preachers. Should we have Peter or John this week? This letter was a reminder of the former days as a warning not to let traditions and formalism replace the pentecostal fires of revival. In the opening chapters, Murray calls the church back to the place where the fire started, back to a focus on the glory of the Son of God. Here is some comments by Andrew Murray about the glory of the Son.
“And what is it that makes Him worthy of taking this high place between the Creator and the creature? Because, as the Son, it is He alone in whom the unapproachable and utterly incomprehensible glory of God is made manifest, through whom as Mediator the uncreated God, and the works of His hand, can come into contact and fellowship. His relation to creation rests on His relation to the Father. He is the outshining of God’s glory, and the express image of His substance. As we only know the sun by the light that shines from it, so is Christ the outshining, the revelation of God’s glory. As the light that shines from the sun is of the same nature with it, so is the Son is one nature with the Father- God of God. As a son bears the likeness of his father, because he has his life and his nature from him, so the Son of God is the express image of the substance. He is of one substance with the Father- its express image- and hath therefore life in Himself, even as the Father hath life in Himself.”
The Lord is speaking to His people again in these last days, He is speaking through the person of His Son. Jesus is our heavenly mediator and as John the Baptist preached, He is the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit. Don’t settle for a form of godliness, press in to the new and living way and you will be caught up in the glory of the Son.

A big amen! As the Son is the outshining of the Father’s own glory we are to be an extension of Him doing the same. We are to walk like Him, Love like Him, and reflect the Father’s heart like Him- when He returns we will even look like Him. Everything that glorifies our Father is to be manifest in His bride.
Hallelujah, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY IS HE. WHAT A BRIGHTNESS HE REALLY IS.
ALL I HAVE SEEN TEACHES ME TO TRUST THE CREATOR FOR ALL I HAVE NOT SEEN. RWE.
