SPIRIT OF TRUTH
John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth…
One of the ways Jesus described the Holy Spirit was the Spirit of Truth. Often, we lose the true meaning of a statement because translating from language to another is imperfect at best. The word Jesus spoke that is translated as truth is not speaking of just accurate information. It is the word aleitheia and speaks of the very essence of something. The word is talking about reality. In our modern day lingo the Holy Spirit will “make it real”. Now that leads us to another question, exactly what is He making real? Well, Jesus answered that question in the very next verse. He said that the Holy Spirit would glorify Him (Jesus). The Holy Spirit makes Jesus a reality to us, He is the one that opens up the whole spiritual realm for us. Here is a powerful excerpt from one of my favorite books, Emblems of the Holy Spirit by F.E. Marsh.
“He is the Spirit of Truth to sanctify, but He is not only the Spirit of Truth to communicate truth’s nature, He is also the living expression of it, even as the rays of the sun prove the sun which shines. He is the Spirit of Grace to beautify, but He is not only the Spirit to make character beautiful with His grace, He has inherent beauty, even as the fragrance of the flower tells the nature of the plant. He is the Spirit of Love to intensify, but He is not only the Spirit of Love to kindle in our hearts the affection of love, He is Love, even as the kindly action of the mother proves the love of her heart. He is the Spirit of Life to fructify, but He is not only the Spirit of Life to quicken us into the life of spiritual things, He is also Life itself, even as the fruit of the tree owes its being to the sap. He is the Spirit of Christ to qualify, but He is not only the Spirit of Christ to carry out God’s will in us, He is also one with Christ in spotlessness of His character. He is the Spirit of Holiness to testify, but He is not only the Spirit of Holiness to testify, He is also the personification of holiness, even as the fire is the cause of warmth. And He is the Spirit of Light to clarify, but He is not only the Spirit of Revelation to enlighten the mind of understanding, He is also the Light of Life, even as the flame of the lamp proclaims the oil which causes the wick to burn.”
So, if you feel a little bored with your life, look to the Holy Spirit. He will liven things up beyond any expectation. Your Bible will come alive, church will come alive, and worship will come alive. Even better, you will come alive.

When we listen to ourselves or others we examine to know by just how we talk or express about the Holy Spirit in our own life. It’s a dead giveaway to know if there is communion with the Holy Spirit. Awesome blog.
