NAKED AND DEFENSELESS
Heb. 4:13 And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.
When I was reading this verse I was reminded of a movie called Gravity that Parris and I saw recently. In this movie the main character was facing certain death, there seemed to be no chance of survival. She found herself floating through space all alone (that really describes every person that is away from God). As she thought about death, her thoughts turned to eternity and to prayer (they always do in times like that). She said to herself, “No one ever taught me to pray.” As the movie went on and the character found herself shockingly safe and alive on an abandoned beach. Exhausted, and stunned that she made it through alive, all she could say was “Thank you.” In her desperation she found herself in the hand of God. Actually, its where she was all along, its where we have all been all along.
Today’s verse says we are naked and defenseless before The Lord. Have you come to that painful yet reassuring conclusion in your life? Open and exposed, naked and defenseless, stripped and stunned; at the end of the day that is the only place of safety. Yielding everything to God when everything is on the line. After all, everything we are and everything we have is always on the line. Here we are on the third rock from the sun, hurtling through space at thousands of miles per hour. Our world is fragile.Without the help of God we have no hope. The sooner we learn to pray the sooner we will enter into His rest.
Coming to the realization of our fragile condition is the beginning of our journey toward His rest. If our life is really in our own hands we are in deep trouble. One mistake, one miscalculation, or one unexpected accident and we all crash and burn. Have you seen the fragile predicament you are in? Can you see your helpless and hopeless condition? Maybe that’s why you are reading this devotion today. Maybe, just maybe, The Lord is speaking to you. Maybe He is softening and opening your heart. Maybe He is opening your spiritual eyes to see your neediness and His greatness. If so, you too will suddenly be aware that He has had you all along. You were not hurtling through space unprotected, you were safely and securely in the strong hand of the Almighty God. He had you before you were born, He had you in the darkest moment of your life, He has you now.
Like the character in the movie, maybe you will find yourself exhausted but safe, stripped and stunned, helpless but secure in the hand of God. If so, you to have learned to pray. What kind of prayer would that be? Of course it would be, “Thank you”.

Amen. There is but One who is always faithful, He will never leave us of forsake us- even when we had not the vision to see it, He was there upholding us.

I LOVE YOU MY LORD, TRY IT, DANCE FOR HIM, WAVE YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR YOU MIGHT LIKE IT, YOU WILL, GUARANTEED. HE IS THE MAKER OF (ALL) THINGS INCLUDING DANCING, YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE TO DRINK A BEER TO ENJOY , HE’S ALL YOU NEED IN (ONE).I REMEMBER WALKING IN CHURCH AND THE LORD WAS SPEAKING TO ME AND HE SAID KEVIN, I SAID YES LORD, HE SAID YOU REMEMBER HOW YOU USE TO DANCE IN THE CLUBS WHEN YOU TOOK THE XTC PILLS, I SAID YES LORD, HE SAID DANCE FOR ME LIKE THAT, I CAN REMEMBER IT SO CLEARLY, HE SAID I AM YOUR LORD, I MAKE ALL MUSIC, BASS, SONGS TREBLE ALL OF IT IS MINE, AND I REMEMBER THE POWER HITTING ME, WHEN I STARTED DANCING FOR HIM.
