Is. 35:5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Is. 35:6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer,
And the tongue of the dumb sing.
For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness,
And streams in the desert.
I love to read about the ministry of Jesus. Today’s passage is a prophesy about the ministry of Jesus from the prophet Isaiah. Jesus healed the sick when He was here on earth; He still heals the sick today. This prophesy speaks about several of the types of miracles that Jesus performs. He did it then and He still does it now.
Jesus opened the eyes of the blind, actually you see the healing of the blind all throughout the gospels. Jesus loved to use that particular healing to address the greater malady that plagues mankind; spiritual blindness. The same spiritual power that heals the physical eyes opens the eyes of our heart. How can you describe what it is like to be blind and suddenly you are given your sight? That is exactly what happens at true conversion. It’s more than repeating a prayer, it is the power of God opening the eyes of our heart to see Christ and His love for us for ourselves. Another common miracle in Jesus’ ministry is the healing of the deaf. This also speaks to us about our spiritual hearing. Even Christians need to have their spiritual ears opened. Pride tends to make us think we know more than we really do. It is the touch of God that brings humility into our lives and gives us the ability to hear the voice of the Lord. He is speaking today, especially through His written word. Give us ears to hear oh Lord!
The lame were known to leap for joy after receiving the healing touch of the Lord. Spiritual lameness is also healed by the Lord. When you think about our walk, our behavior, it is crippled by our sins and our inability to overcome the offenses against those who have sinned against us. Receiving forgiveness and forgiving those who have sinned against us will go a long way in putting a dance in our step. Another powerful healing was to give the deaf mutes the ability to talk. How many of us have struggled with really communicating what’s in our hearts. Many have been bound up for years, afraid to communicate for fear of rejection. In Christ we have found profound acceptance, we are made acceptable in our Beloved Jesus. The healing touch of Jesus will make you whole. You will see His glory, hear His voice, dance for joy, and sing His praises for all to hear.

1 thought on “BEHOLD THE WORK OF GOD”
Where I accepted Christ is not important but it was inside a building. I remember as I walked out that building being conscience of, (seeing), something more, WAY MORE, out there then when I walked in. I remember asking, “How could I have not seen this before?” I was blind (spiritually). Praise the Lord He not only gives physical sight to the blind but He goes way beyond what any man could do by giving spiritual sight! \o/ And that is at the beginning of our walk. This is when I like to say He is showing off but He isn’t even trying but it is just who He is!
