HELP ME

Jn.14:26 – But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

We have all prayed this prayer at one time or another; HELPPPPP!!!!! For some, it takes longer than others to get to that point, but when we call He will answer. The night Jesus was arrested the disciples were in that crying for help mode. They realized Jesus was about to be killed and they were not in a place to believe in resurrection. To say they were distressed would be a huge understatement. They were consumed and over whelmed. Jesus spent the last evening encouraging His disciples with a gigantic promise. The Holy Spirit would come and His very nature is a nature of help. Jesus word for the Holy Spirit, Paracletos; was One Who is called along side of us to help us. The only catch, we have to come to the place where humility sets in and we cry out for help from the Lord. Some people say John Lennon got saved before he was killed in New York. I don’t know if that is fake news or not but one of the songs he wrote called HELP describes what could be called a prayer for help.

Help, I need somebody

Help, not just anybody

Help, you know I need someone, help

When I was younger, so much younger than today

I never needed anybody’s help in any way

But now these days are gone, I’m not so self assured

Now I find I’ve changed my mind and opened up the doors

Help me if you can, I’m feeling down

And I do appreciate you being round

Help me, get my feet back on the ground

Won’t you please, please help me

And now my life has changed in oh so many ways

My independence seems to vanish in the haze

But every now and then I feel so insecure

I know that I just need you like I’ve never done before

Help me if you can, I’m feeling down

And I do appreciate you being round

Help me, get my feet back on the ground

Won’t you please, please help me

Who knows who John Lennon was calling to for help, all I know is this; The Lord is near to those with a broken and humble heart. If you cry for help, the Helper will be suddenly there.
