Today’s devotion will be rather different than most. We are in an unusual season with many claiming we are entering a new normal. I absolutely and totally reject that!!! I say we are entering a new supernatural season; I say call it THE NEW SUPERNATURAL. I hope you come to church today; this is the outline for my message. It is all scripture. I hope it awakens a new passion for THE NEW SUPERNATURAL in all of us.
I. A LONGING FOR CHURCH GATHERINGS
Ps 122:1 – I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go into the house of the LORD.”
II. A LONGING FOR HIS PRESENCE FOUND IN WORSHIP
Ps 63:1,2 – O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
III. A PASSION FOR THE WORD OF GOD
Ps.119:72 – The law of Your mouth is better to me
Than thousands of coins of gold and silver.
IV. A PASSION FOR SPIRITUAL GIFTS
1 Cor.14:1 – Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy
1 Cor.14:39 – Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.
V. RADICAL CONVERSIONS
1 Sam.10:6 – Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man.
2 Cor.5:17 – Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new creation. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new.
VI. A SURGE OF SIGNS AND WONDERS
Acts 5:14-16 – And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. 16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
VII. JEREMIAH’S ALMOND BRANCH
Jer.1:11,12 – The word of the LORD came to me saying, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” And I said, “I see a rod of an almond tree.” Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.”
