SHOW ME YOUR GLORY

Ps.68:28,29 – Display your strength, God, and we’ll be strong! For your miracles have made us who we are. Lord, do it again, and parade from your temple your mighty power. By your command even kings will bring gifts to you.

Show me Your glory! This has been a cry for God’s people since the time of Moses. Moses lifted this cry up to the Lord; as a result God came to him on the mountain and the Lord hid His face, showed Moses His back as He passed by, and hid Moses in the cleft of the Rock. Of course this rock is a picture of us being hidden in the wounded side of our Lord Jesus. Show me your glory! All of us have felt this cry well up inside of us as we have pressed on to follow the Lord. A popular worship song by Jesus Culture has voiced this cry for the church in the last few years. Check out the lyrics of that song.

I see the cloud, I step in

I want to see Your glory like Moses did

Flashes of light, rolls of thunder

I’m not afraid

I’m not afraid

Show me Your glory, show me Your glory

Show me Your glory, show me Your glory

I’m awed by Your beauty, lost in Your eyes

I want to walk in Your presence like Jesus did

Your glory surrounds me and I’m overwhelmed

I’m not afraid

I’m not afraid

Show me Your glory, show me Your glory

Show me Your glory,…

Has God answered that prayer in your life? What does it look like when He actually displays His glory? Have you seen the awesome display of the glory of God? Maybe you have and are not quite sure that is exactly what you saw. Could it be that when God shows His glory He is actually opening our eyes to what is already going on all around us? I think that is exactly the case. God’s glory is under our noses every moment. His gentle presence can be felt in the wind, or seen in the crashing waves of the sea (even at the lakefront in NOLA). His glory can be perceived as we soak in the scriptures that we often hurry through. His glory is the strongest when we see His testimony on display in His redeemed sons and daughters starting with your testimony. Reflect on what He has done. Glory in His story in the people you know. Before you know it you will clearly see that He is always showing off His glory. Come on Lord, Show me Your glory!!!.
