Ps.103:5 – Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Parris and I went for a quick getaway to Grayton Beach this last week. On the way there, we were suddenly surprised to see a bald eagle flying over us. We had not seen an eagle for several years. We saw this as a special blessing from the Lord to begin our trip. Saturday morning, after returning from Florida, we took our dogs for a walk. At the end of our street in NOLA the crows were making quite a ruckus. I looked up into the tall pine tree for a great surprise, there was a bald eagle perched in that tree at the end of my street. Immediately I knew this was no coincidence. I have never seen an eagle in this neighborhood, I received this as a prophetic sign from the Lord. I began to search through the scriptures and found several verses that brought me encouragement. The first one is in Psalms 103:5. – “You satisfy my every desire with good things. You’ve supercharged my life so that I soar again like a flying eagle in the sky!” I see this verse as THE PROMISE OF RENEWAL AND REVIVAL. In this unusual season, revival is certain, the Lord is visiting His people again .
The next verse I thought of is Rev.4:7 – “The first living creature resembled a lion, the second an ox, the third had a human face, and the fourth was like an eagle in flight.” The eagle is known for soaring to the heights and for his incredible vision. This unveils the revelation of Jesus we find in John’s gospel. John takes us to the heights as we see Jesus as the Son of God from eternity clothed with human flesh. In John we find the pinnacle of the Father’s revelation, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”. The Lord will give us prophetic insight in these unusual seasons.
The next verse that came to mind was Isa.40:31 – “But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.”
In this verse the Lord promises to renew or strength, cause us to mount up and soar over the troubles in this life, to be strengthened to run with power in His race, and to persevere to the end.
Our country is represented by the eagle. We are in perilous times as a nation. I take this eagle visitation as a sign of national promise- the Lord is visiting us again.
