Ps.119:120 – My body trembles in holy awe of you, leaving me speechless, for I’m frightened of your righteous judgments.
America is at an historical crossroads which will decide her future. I watched a worship event from Washington DC this weekend with Sean Feucht and Lou Engles. It was an historic moment, the day before the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett as an Associate Justice to the Supreme Court. Engles shared about the ending of abortion and its connection to revival and the justice of God. Today’s verse pretty much describes the way I felt as I watched: “My body trembles in holy awe of you, leaving me speechless, for I’m frightened of your righteous judgments”. Here is a quote from Lou Engles about all of that followed by a quote from Abraham Lincoln.
“I believe we are coming into another day of reckoning on the issue of race and blood. And if we don’t deal with abortion and Roe v. Wade in our courts, God’s going to deal with it in His courts and a day of reckoning so terrifying, maybe a Civil War like we’ve never known, is going to come to America because we did not deal with the shedding of the innocent blood and the race issues. I believe God could give us a revival that washes away the color line and the blood like the Azusa Street Revival.”
“Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray, that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue…until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said, ‘The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.'”
I had never connected the sins of slavery and the shedding of the blood of the slaves to the Civil War. The Civil War was the justice of God in response to the sins of our nation. That being true, I tremble in fear of the justice of God in response to the 65 million aborted children in America since 1973. Ending abortion and revival are also connected. This election and the prayers of the church are critical at this time . Here is Lou Engles’ prayer about all of this.
“Jesus, I plead your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America.”
