Heb.12:1,2 – Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race…

Recently Dr. Cho went to be with the Lord. I have been reflecting on his life and death the last several days and began to realize his death could actually be the end of an era and the beginning of a new day. Over the last few years the major charismatic/Pentecostal leaders of my generation have gone to be with the Lord. Several of them stand out to me and have impacted this generation. Maybe its time for a new generation of Holy Spirit anointed men and women to step forward. This is our time, a generation is waiting. Here are some observations I’ve made from four of these great leaders. Their giftings have marked a generation.

David Yonggi Cho

Acts 2:46 – Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,

Dr. Cho is known for pioneering the largest church in church history in Seoul, Korea. This church numbered 800,000 members and transformed a nation. Dr. Cho’s vision of the local church touched my life in 1978 and was the main reason I became a pastor.

Oral Roberts

Lk.6:19 – And all the people were trying to touch Him, because power was coming from Him and healing them all.

Oral Roberts was at the forefront of the healing revival. I can remember watching his tent meetings on television as a young child. Those healing services were imprinted in my brain.

Kenneth Hagin

Mk.11:23 – Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted to him.

Brother Hagin was used by the Lord to teach all of us that all things are possible. I remember reading and preaching all of Brother Hagin’s sermons in my early days as a pastor. I am greatly indebted to him for his revelation of faith.

Kathryn Kuhlman

Jn.14:16 – I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever;

Miss Kuhlman has to be my favorite. She is the only one of these four that I never met but along with thousands of others I would wait by my radio daily to listen to her preaching. Her reliance on the Holy Spirit revolutionized my life. All I can say is do it again Lord!!!!!
