SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST

Rev.13:7 – “He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation”.

The Apostle John and the Apostle Paul both said that the spirit of antichrist is already at work in the world. Paul said that the restrainer, most likely the church, is keeping the antichrist influence from taking full control. Once the church is removed the spirit of antichrist will come into full bloom. What that will look like is up for debate, in the meantime we must focus our attention on the expansion of the kingdom of God.
To me, the government response to the Covid pandemic has been a practice run for things to come. Nations like the Philippines and Australia have spent extended periods of time in lockdowns, mask mandates, and vaccination mandates. Even the USA has seen unprecedented government over reach in many regions of the country. Crises are opportune time for tyrants to take control and to expand their political power and influence.
The Bible shows even more perilous times ahead, obviously the antichrist will seize the opportunities that are presented by calamities and will suddenly be ruling “for our own good”, tyrants always know best. Here is how Tim LaHaye describes the spirit of antichrist by establishing a global government.

“Today the world is prepared for a one-world governmental philosophy. That philosophy, propagated by Satan and advocated by the intellectual, godless, atheistic leaders of world governments today, is rapidly spreading across the earth. As already seen, humankind has just about come to the conclusion that the only solution to the problem of continuous war is a one-world government. That government will be the devil’s government, established during the Tribulation. In the midst of that time he will assume control himself and, as this verse tells us, will exercise power over “every tribe, people, language and nation.”

As you can see, the handwriting is already on the wall. We shouldn’t be surprised or afraid of the rapidly changing world. We were born for this moment, it is time for the church to seize the day. I am believing God for a new boldness and creativity to flow from His church. I see outdoor public evangelism and worship events, I see an increase in signs and wonders happening in public places, and I see common Christians moving from casual Christianity into passionate outreach and ministry. This is our moment, the reason we were born, let’s launch out into deeper waters and let down our nets for a catch.
