Heb.12:28 29 – Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let’s show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.
It’s easy to become ungrateful if we stare at our worries day in and day out. Sure we all face stuff and some face more than others do and some seasons are more unpleasant than other seasons are. At the end of the day how can we move from depression and gloom to gratitude? I think a lot of it has to do with our spiritual condition. When I turn toward the Lord I become more aware of Him and His goodness. His goodness swallows up my ingratitude as I become aware of His mercies that surround me everyday which helps me sing like David sang, “The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever”. Here is how Brandon Lake expresses this in his song GRATITUDE.
“All my words fall short
I got nothing new
How could I express
All my gratitude?
I could sing these songs
As I often do
But every song must end
And You never do
So I throw up my hands
And praise You again and again
‘Cause all that I have is a hallelujah
Hallelujah
And I know it’s not much
But I’ve nothing else fit for a King
Except for a heart singing hallelujah
Hallelujah
I’ve got one response
I’ve got just one move
With my arm stretched wide
I will worship You
So I throw up my hands
And praise You again and again
‘Cause all that I have is a hallelujah
Hallelujah
And I know it’s not much
But I’ve nothing else fit for a King
Except for a heart singing hallelujah
Hallelujah
So come on, my soul
Oh, don’t you get shy on me
Lift up your song
‘Cause you’ve got a lion inside of those lungs
Get up and praise the Lord”
I think being away from corporate worship during the last two years was not a healthy experience for any of us. These last two weeks we have seen many return to corporate worship. In that place of worshiping with His church we become suddenly aware of His goodness and mercy. When that happens our hearts are consumed with gratitude. So I’m going to join with Brandon Lake and let that lion loose from my lungs and sing and shout hallelujah to the Lord. Come on and praise the Lord today – throw up your hands and praise Him again and again, what else can we do when our hearts are filled with gratitude.
So filled with gratitude ! Yes it was about 1 year ago you were released from the hospital! Haha The enemy tried to snuff out the praise from our lungs but we are releasing the lion to roar louder and louder!
Love you Pastor Frank!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
