Rev.19:7 – Let’s rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, because the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His bride has prepared herself.
Can you imagine if everyday was the wedding day with all of the celebration, joy and laughter? The Lord gives us a picture of the celebration awaiting us on the coming great day of the Lord. First things first, as a Christian we face the judgement Seat of Christ. This is not for the lost, this judgement is only on the saved. Apparently we will pass through the fire of God, whatever is left on the other side of this fire is somehow related to our life and the reward awaiting us. This is what Jesus meant when He exhorted us to store up treasures in heaven. All that hear our cry and hear His voice in this hour must respond. Jonathan Edwards lived in the epicenter of the Great Awakening. Here is what he said about this marriage celebration.
“Yea, the Scriptures represent it not only as a time of universal joy on earth, but extraordinary joy in heaven, among the angels and saints, the holy apostles and prophets there. Yea, the Scriptures represent it as a time of extraordinary rejoicing with Christ himself, the glorious head, in whom all things in heaven and earth shall then be gathered together in one. “The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save; he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love; he will joy over thee with singing.” And the very fields, trees and mountains shall then as it were rejoice, and break forth into singing. “Ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
I have come to the conclusion that heaven is a happy place; no anger or crying there. When Christ returns, our joy will intensify in His glory at His appearing. I know heaven is a happy place, but I have a feeling things are about to ramp way up there when His church appears in His glory. The Lord will shout, the elders will shout, the angels and cherubim will cry out, and all the lost from every tribe and tongue will scream out for joy. The amazing thing about this, this will be the eternal day – an eternal wedding celebration of joy.
