Acts 1:8 – but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.”

Lk.24:48,49 – You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

You have a different dynamic involved in your life when you begin to walk in the power of the Spirit. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is supernatural power that brings you into the life where all things are possible. What does it mean “to walk in the Spirit”? Is this just for ministers or special Christians or is this available to all of us? The Passion Translation describes the dynamic nature of being baptized in the Holy Spirit in Lk.24:49 – “And I will send the fulfillment of the Father’s promise to you. So stay here in the city until the mighty power of heaven falls upon you and wraps around you.” So that pretty much sums it up, you can literally be wrapped up in the Spirit of God. This provides unlimited power for you in whatever work the Lord calls you to do.

You may wonder what type of ministry the Lord wants you involved in, actually that is quite simple. When you are wrapped in His Spirit you begin to have compassion for hurting people, that is the key to finding your place to serve. Follow your heart and He will release His power through you to bring healing, hope, and deliverance to the broken.

There is another benefit to being wrapped in His power. He will actually empower you in your inner man to live a godly life. There is supernatural moral courage that accompanies the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. So let me say it like this, where the Spirit of the Lord is there is purity and a godly lifestyle.

People that are not familiar with the supernatural nature of Christianity easily fall victim to this evil generation. The world’s lies of “everybody is doing it” are hard to resist unless you are filled with power from on high. Christ in us lives a different kind of life, it is His power on display in us that can have a great impact on the world we live in.
