John 15:26 – But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
I used to love to listen to Kathryn Kuhlman’s radio program. I would schedule my lunch break to grab my sack lunch and head to the car to listen to Miss Kuhlman’s show. “Have you been waiting for me”? She would say as she began her broadcast. Then she would interview someone who had been healed in one of her meetings and then pray for those listening in the radio audience. I can remember the atmosphere of the Holy Spirit filling my car as she prayed. During that season in our lives my wife Parris was expecting our first son to be born. I can remember the fear in my heart when the doctor told us that Parris had a condition that would prohibit her from natural child birth, they would schedule an operation to deliver our son. I remember reading Kathryn’s book called “I Believe in Miracles” at that time and asking the Lord to heal my wife. Parris actually went into labor before the scheduled operation but to the doctor’s surprise her condition had vanished and she gave birth to our first child. Something had stirred in us reading Miss Kuhlman’s book and the Lord gave us a miracle. Here is a testimony recorded by Ron McIntosh in his article describing the ministry of Kathryn Kuhlman.
“I will never forget the way she expounded on an intimacy with the Holy Spirit that I had rarely heard about. The presence of that same Holy Spirit seemed to increase with each passing moment, until it reached climactic proportions. Then she dramatically began to “shift gears.” Instead of talking about the Holy Spirit, she seemed to be taking instructions from Him. The supernatural gifts of the word of knowledge seemed to flow from her as the Holy Spirit whispered in her ear. She would point and say, “A woman in a yellow dress in this section of the auditorium is being healed of cancer of the stomach. A middle-aged man in the back is having a cleansing of his body, and his arteries are being cleaned out.” On and on she would go. It appeared that believers and skeptics alike were being healed by the incredible power of God. Even hearing and seeing all that, it startled me when, in her characteristic style, she pointed a long, bony finger in my direction. My heart began to beat heavily as she continued to operate in the supernatural anointing of the Holy Spirit.”
We can learn one incredibly important lesson from the life and ministry of Kathryn Kuhlman, intimacy with the Holy Spirit will change everything. In that atmosphere the word of God comes alive, our faith comes alive, and miracles are the result. So I have to say it again, I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES.
