Acts 2:1-4 – When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
This passage says that the Spirit gave them utterance. What does that even mean? It describes the mystery of the language of the Spirit. We do our part – set our lips, tongues, and vocal cords in action; at that point the Holy Spirit begins to speak through us about the magnificence of God and His great works. If you think about it, fallen man and his human limitations could never truly express or even know the greatness of God. After being baptized in the Holy Spirit you begin to taste of His goodness and His greatness, after that the anointing of the Holy Spirit gives us the ability to display this greatness through supernatural worship. Whether you worship Him in your native language or you just worship Him in the Spirit, our worship displays the glory of God everywhere we go. Here is how Vincent and Horton describe this moment.

“Used only by Luke and in the Acts. Lit., to utter. A peculiar word, and purposely chosen to denote the clear, loud utterance under the miraculous impulse. It is used by later Greek writers of the utterances of oracles or seers.”

“This speaking came “as the Spirit enabled them” (Gk. edidou apophthengesthai autois, “proceeded to give and kept on giving them to speak out loudly and boldly”).That is, they used their tongues, their muscles; they spoke. However, the words did not come from their own minds or thinking. The Spirit gave them what to speak—and they expressed it boldly, loudly, and with obvious anointing and power. This was the one sign of the baptism in the Holy Spirit that was repeated.”
This gift introduces us to the supernatural realm of the Spirit of God. Actually practicing using this supernatural utterance to worship God in the Spirit becomes a springboard to the world of the Holy Spirit. Spend more and more time praying in the Holy Ghost and you will begin to discover the other gifts of the Spirit, sent by God . Paul encouraged everyone to pursue the gift of prophesy, as you do the other gifts will begin to work in you. This supernatural utterance will launch you into the place where the gifts of the Spirit are on full display in your life.
