Heb.10:19-22 – Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, through His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let’s approach God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
This passage of scripture has been used by the Lord in my life for many years. It started when I came across a small book by Andrew Murray called “LET US DRAW NIGH” many years ago. This little book focused entirely on today’s passage of scripture in Hebrews instructing us about the new and living way, in other words a new way to live our lives. This passage looks at the tearing of the veil in the temple when Jesus gave His life on the cross. The veil had blocked man’s access to the presence of God for centuries, because the veil was torn at the death of Christ we now have freedom to come into His presence. Not only that, we can now live in the place of His presence. Here is how Andrew Murray describes this.
“The new and living way, through the rent veil, that is, His flesh, has reference to His death, regarded as that of our Leader and Forerunner, who opened up a path to God, in which He first walked Himself, and then draws us to follow Him. The death of Jesus was not only the dedication or inauguration of the new sanctuary and of the new covenant, but also of the new way into the holy presence and fellowship of God. Whoever in faith accepts of the blood He shed as His boldness of entrance, must accept, too, of the way He opened up as that in which he walks.”
This revelation changed my life, instead of just believing Christ was in me I could now come near to Him and stay with Him. Faith doesn’t just believe we are in God’s presence, faith brings us into the reality of the presence of God. This truth radically changes my life, in His presence is joy unspeakable and it is this joy that empowers us. As we celebrate the death of the Lord this year let’s honor Him by drawing near and staying in His love.

HE IS RISEN! It is not I that lives but Christ Jesus that lives in me. This live I live, I live by faith in Him.
