Rev.2:20 – But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.
Sexual sin has been a problem since the beginning of time. It is not only a problem in the secular world, it has been a stumbling block in religious circles for a very long time. From Jezebel in the days of Elijah to the drama infecting the church in Thyatira, immoral behavior has brought many ministries down. In my lifetime I have seen sexual sin destroy large churches and small churches. Everything from megachurch pastors to television evangelists, and Catholic and Protestant churches alike have had their names ruined by improper sexual behavior. Matthew Henry addressed this problem back in the 1700’s.
“These wicked seducers were compared to Jezebel, and called by her name. Jezebel was a persecutor of the prophets of the Lord, and a great patroness of idolaters and false prophets.
The sin of these seducers was that they attempted to draw the servants of God into fornication, and to offer sacrifices to idols; they called themselves prophets, and so would claim a superior authority and regard to the ministers of the church. Two things aggravated the sin of these seducers, who, being one in their spirit and design, are spoken of as one person:— [1.] They made use of the name of God to oppose the truth of his doctrine and worship; this very much aggravated their sin. [2.] They abused the patience of God to harden themselves in their wickedness. God gave them space for repentance, but they repented not.”
How are we to deal with this issue in today’s promiscuous world? First of all, we must separate ourselves from the temptations that are in the world. Remember the mistake David made with Bathsheba. He put himself in a compromising situation and was overcome by his lust. We must never put ourselves in a compromising situation, the spirit is willing to follow the Lord but the flesh is weak. Secondly, fill your life with spiritual allurements. Spending time in the word, worship, and praying in the Spirit goes a long way in keeping ourselves pure. Finally, place yourself in accountability through godly relationships. Christian community is essential. Hanging with the wrong people leads to destruction. Good Christian friends will keep you safe.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Yes, iPhones, laptops, can and will , once you partake in this sin, serve you temptings, remind you, here it is, advertise its open doorway. Addictions consume at the expense of relationships, it’s goal to isolate
and control. Often God’s loving kindness is to expose what you have hidden and give us a new opportunity to say yes to Him. Saying “NO” by ourselves is like sitting on a chair with one leg. He is our salvation from all sins and will send help in many forms as we repent and ask for His help.
Amen 🙏🏽Here’s a testimony: Because I was designed in God’s image, one may look at me and make false assumptions. I was a ‘trophy’ wife. Fast forward, today I’m leading Catholics and Christians to worship in song! A Deacon saw me at Choir rehearsal, and was wondering if I was still in the band too! Of course I am. I explained to him, (according to Paul) that if you’re hot and bothered, you should be married, (hot, but no one’s bothering me) if not, I’m more available to do the work of the Lord❣️#blessed to be ‘kept’ by the King of Kings , and Lord of Lords☮️
