Mal.3:10 – Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the LORD of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.
I TITHE BECAUSE I AM GRATEFUL FOR HIS BENEFITS AND PROVISION
Rom.12:1 – Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice,
In light of all Christ as done for me, in light of His death on the cross, the salvation of my life, all of His blessing He has poured on me- how can I not give thanks to the Lord with my tithe?
I TITHE BECAUSE HE PURCHASED ME WITH HIS BLOOD
Gen.14:18-20 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said:
“Blessed be Abram of God Most High,
Possessor of heaven and earth;
And blessed be God Most High,
Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.”
And he gave him a tithe of all.
I TITHE BECAUSE I NEED HIS PROTECTION
Mal.3:11 – And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”
Says the LORD of hosts;
I TITHE BECAUSE I WANT TO LIVE IN THE BLESSING OF ABRAHAM
Gal.3:29 – And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
I TITHE BECAUSE I LOVE GOD’S HOUSE
Mal.3:10 – Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
I love God’s house, I love what happens in and through His house. I have no other recourse I must support the house of God with my tithe.
I TITHE BECAUSE I AM STORING UP TREASURES
Luke 6:20 – but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
I am living my life for the other side. I tithe because I believe it will have an effect on my eternal reward.
Thankfully I was taught to tithe as a young Christian. Through tithing as a lifestyle, I have seen the Lord’s favor on my life in the good times and the most difficult times. My prayer for you is that you would embrace tithing as a way of life and live in His benefits.
