GOD’S LOVE LANGUAGE- 1

What mankind lost at the fall of man was intimacy with God. Adam and Eve had full access to the Lord before their act of disobedience, unfortunately their sin became our sin and we too were separated from God. Intimacy with God is what Jesus came to give back to all of us; here are some passages of scripture that give us a glimpse into that intimacy we have been given back.

LANGUAGE OF INTIMACY

1 Cor.14:2 – MSG – “If you praise him in the private language of tongues, God understands you, but no one else does, for you are sharing intimacies just between you and him.”

This is our prayer language which became available to us when the Holy Spirit was poured out. The Baptism in the Spirit brings us into this world of intimacy with God.

II. INTIMACY OF HIS VOICE

John 10:3,4 – MSG – “The shepherd walks right up to the gate. The gatekeeper opens the gate to him and the sheep recognize his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he gets them all out, he leads them and they follow because they are familiar with his voice.”

Hearing the voice of God is critical, this is why we search the scriptures because it is there we hear His voice.

III. THE AUTHORITY AND KINDNESS IN HIS VOICE

Jn7:46 – “The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this Man!”

The voice of the Lord is like no other, it is like the comforting voice of a father filled with kindness and authority.

IV. THE INTIMACY OF HIS KISS – THE BREATH OF GOD – HIS KISSES

SOS 1:2 – NKJ – “Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth— For your love is better than wine.”

This intimacy is what the Song of Solomon is all about. We have been brought near by His blood and can enjoy His love.

V. THE INTIMACY OF HIS BREATH

John 10:22 NKJV – “And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”

This was the discovery of the apostles that first day after His resurrection. Just as Adam came alive by God’s breath, the disciples came alive by the breath of God.

VI. THE INTIMACY OF HIS TOUCH

Luke 8:54 – “But He put them all outside, took her by the hand and called, saying, “Little girl, arise.” Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately.”

The touch of God carries life and restoration. This dead little girl came alive at the Master’s tender touch.

VII. LANGUAGE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Acts 2:17 – “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.”

Finally, we have the last day sign and wonder of visions and dreams. Draw near to God and let Him fill you with the language that He speaks, the language of visions and dreams.
