Isa.10:27 – And it shall come to pass in that day,that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck,and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
You don’t hear too much about deliverance or demonic activity in our modern world, I guess that is considered too messy in today’s church. Just because you pretend that world doesn’t exist doesn’t make that true. Demonic activity is prevalent in today’s culture and can be clearly seen in some specific types of behavior. The first is in perversion and immoral behavior. Everything from pornography to blatant sexual deviancy is very common and even celebrated in today’s world. This behavior is clearly demonic and destroys people’s lives. Only the power of God can bring freedom to those trapped in an immoral lifestyle.
The second very common characteristic we see in our world is addiction. Everything from alcoholism to drugs, specifically opioids, are destroying far too many lives today. The power of God can liberate those experiencing addictive behavior. Saturation as a lifestyle is critical to get people free and to help them stay free.
Ephesus was known in Paul’s day to contain two practices that were related to demonic activity. First, immorality and deviant lifestyles were prevalent. Homosexuality and prostitution were common and an accepted part of their culture. It was the power of the anointing flowing out of the meetings Paul conducted that began to expose and break this behavior. Secondly the occult was very common. Apparently magic and sorcery, fortune telling, and the worship of Artemis (the queen of heaven) were all extremely common. The power of God that flowed out of Paul’s teaching and the anointing in his services broke these demonic strongholds.
So how is the anointing able to break this bondage in individuals lives and keep them free on a permanent basis? Strangely enough it is the power of pleasure that does it. Why do people become involved in immoral behavior or look for satisfaction in alcohol or drugs? It is the power and attraction of pleasure at the bottom of all of it. That’s the unexpected ability of the anointing, the presence of he Living God, to bring freedom from immorality and addictive behavior into our lives. The presence of God liberates us and fills us with the very joy our hearts long for. This is the solution to all of this, drink in His presence and you can be changed. Take time today to soak in God’s word, His word brings freedom into every part of our lives. Saturate yourself in a time of prayer and worship, enjoying God will bring blessing into every part of your life.
