Mk.5:25,26 – And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
Sometimes, in the midst of a crisis of life we try every possible thing we can think of and nothing helps. This poor woman in this verse had been hemorrhaging for twelve years and there was no fix for her dilemma. That’s what I want to talk with you about today, when there is no way out Jesus becomes the only way out. This poor woman heard stories about Jesus and other people in crisis who had been healed. She heard about lepers, blind, and lame all being healed by the power of God. “Surely there is hope for me”, she thought. As she pondered all of those miracles she made a decision. Even though her condition made her unclean she had to take a risk, she would make her way through the crowd and sneak a touch of the Master’s garment.
That’s exactly what she did, she touched Jesus and immediately she was healed of her affliction. She thought that was it, she could slip through the crowd and stay unnoticed. After all, she got what she came for and no one ever needed to know. That’s when everything changed. Jesus began to cry out, “Who touched Me?” The disciples chimed in, “Who touched You? Everyone is touching you, you are in a huge crowd”. Jesus continued, “No, somebody touched Me. I felt the power go out from Me”. Suddenly Jesus saw her, Jesus always sees us, but this moment would change everything. Not only was she physically healed but Jesus was claiming her as His own.
The woman fell down trembling before the Lord, her life could never be the same. What Jesus said next would stay with her for the rest of her life. “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”
Those words were sealed in her heart for the rest of her days. Think about this, Jesus called her Daughter, she would be a daughter of God for eternity. Next he said she would be made whole, her whole life; spirit, soul, and body were transformed by the touch of God. Next He said, “Go in peace”. This woman had not known peace for at least twelve years. Those long years of torment were over, now peace was flooding her heart. So maybe you are in one of those difficult moments in life. What should you do? Find a way to touch Jesus and you also will find your miracle.
