CASHING IN EARLY
Rom. 8:17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
I think we sometimes become so familiar with Christian lingo that we become kind of immune to the power of the gospel. One example of this is found in the teaching of sonship. Paul said that “God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” The power of that verse alone is so stunning that any glimpse of the reality of that truth would leave us breathless. We have become sons and daughters. We were once enemies of God, children of wrath until the Father sent the Spirit of adoption into our hearts. We have become sons. The ramifications of that truth not only change everything in this life but reverberates throughout eternity. We have become eternal sons and daughters of God. Adam Clarke spoke about the power of this verse in his commentary on the Bible.
“And if children, then heirs – For the legitimate children can alone inherit the estate. This is not an estate to which they succeed in consequence of the death of a former possessor; it is like the promised land, given by God himself, and divided among the children of the family.
Heirs of God – It is neither an earthly portion nor a heavenly portion; but God himself, who is to be their portion. It is not heaven they are to inherit; it is God, who is infinitely greater and more glorious than heaven itself. With such powers has God created the soul of man, that nothing less than himself can be a sufficient and satisfactory portion for the mind of this most astonishing creature.
Joint heirs with Christ – Partaking of the same eternal glory with the glorified human nature of Christ.
We are heirs, heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ, if so be that we suffer with him. This, with the additional consideration that we suffer with Christ, or, as he himself suffered, would greatly qualify the transitory afflictions of this world, and dispose them to attend to the other arguments he had to offer.”
Clarke draws our attention to this stunning truth; its not the angels, the golden streets, the happy family reunion that makes up our heavenly inheritance. Our eternal reward is God Himself. Paul the apostle talks about this incredible reward and comes to some amazing conclusions. He says the suffering of this present age cannot begin to compare or take away from our heavenly portion. If God is our portion then suffering becomes insignificant in comparison.
So let’s think about our problems for a moment. Is it financial woes that have you down? Maybe it’s family problems or even health problems. Whatever the case, the worst that can happen to you if you are His son is that you could cash in on your inheritance earlier than you expected. At the end of the day (or at the beginning of eternity) its not a bad deal.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
God had me at “Forgiven.” Even knowing God personnally I would never imagine to ask for anything near the magnitude of this prosmise – but oh how He loves us and displays His glory in and through us! Praise God! \o/

Whats great about the lord is also a very abundant life experienceing him and seeing his handiwork in lives trails tribulations, there was a song Andra Crouch did back in the 70s called tTrew it all, very good song in it it says threw it all ive learned to trust in Jesus no matter what, we can trust him and walk boldly in him before Gods throne with anything on our hearts, make outr petitions known, draw closer to Him let him live in us, love others only by his grace are any of us saved and by his mercy is anyoneof us walking with Him, Im so glad of his grace and mercy and his love for us.
