HE IS WATCHING EVERY DAY

Deut.11:12 – the eyes of the LORD your God are continually on it, from the beginning even to the end of the year.

This verse is a special promise of God’s personal care over His people. It’s original meaning was God’s protective care over the Promised Land for the people of God; obviously the Lord’s care was for the people not just the land. The Holy Spirit has often applied this scripture to me personally especially at the end of one year and the beginning of the next. Looking back over the past year we can see the hand of the Lord in protection, provision, and blessing in all of our lives. As we consider the next year it is quite amazing to realize that the Lord is already active in our lives for the next 365 days. Remember, the Lord created time and lives outside of it and is unaffected by the thing we call time. In other words, “I am” is already in the middle of every day of 2025 orchestrating all the events for the advancing of His kingdom and my ultimate good. He already has supplied everything we need for each day of the coming year; everything from financial provision, healing for our bodies, wisdom for every challenge, and even defense from every weapon that is aimed at our lives. Here is how the ESV Study Bible describes this promise.

“The idyllic picture of the land recalls the description of Eden and is an added incentive to conquer it. The eyes of the LORD your God are always upon it suggests care and protection as well as bounty. if you will indeed obey. This command lies in the center of idyllic land descriptions, highlighting the centrality of obedience, early rain and the later rain. Both October/November and March/April rains are needed for good crops, eat and be full.”

So what will 2025 look like in your world and in the life of your Christian community? He has marked out a course, our job will be to hear from heaven, embrace and receive His promises by faith, and boldly go forward in everything He has asked for us to do. We live in a changing season in our world, our dependence on God is becoming more obvious to us all the time. Knowing His eyes are on every day of this next year reminds us that all that is left for us to do is to draw near to Him, embrace Him, and walk into His plans for our lives.
