Rom.8:34,35 – Christ Jesus is He who died, but rather, was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or trouble, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
The mystery of the incarnation of Christ and His mission of redemption deepens when we touch on His ministry as our heavenly Intercessor. He entered into heaven as a human being, different from the way He was in eternity past, and is seated at the Father’s right hand interceding for all of those who belong to Him. This is the release of God’s love toward hurting people. Who can separate those who belong to the Lord from His love? There is nothing or no one in heaven, on earth, or in hell itself that can separate us from the love of God. Here is how the Reformed Expository Commentary describes the intercession of Jesus.
“Although many accuse, God does not, and thus no charge can stand against us. Jesus died for our sins and rose for our justification. Now he sits, his work complete, “at the right hand of God”. The right hand of God is often the position of vice-regent for God as he governs. But here the thrust is judicial: “Jesus died to secure our justification,” and then the Father raised him and seated him at his right hand, “that he may intercede for us, ensuring that the justifying verdict for which he died is applied to us in the judgment.” By this intercession, Jesus is, in the truest sense, “our patron,” pleading our case to the Father, “to secure for his people the benefits of his death.” If Christ is our Advocate on the Great Day, no one can condemn us.”
If this is true and I absolutely believe it is, then everything that comes against me will not only be defeated but will actually become the pathway to total victory which brings great glory to God. So this is how this pans out, Jesus prays for me, the Holy Spirit releases those prayers inside of me as I yield to His promptings, and then the Lord orchestrates the circumstances of my life to bring about the favor and blessing of God on every part of my life. How can I get involved in this prayer circle of love? I think the easiest way is to just pray in the Spirit, pray in tongues a lot and the Lord will sort out the rest.
