EZEKIEL AND CURRENT EVENTS

Ezekiel.38:1-6 – Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops—many people are with you.

Ezekiel prophesied over 2600 years ago about a battle in the last of days that would include a coalition of nations; Russia, Iran, Ethiopia, Libya, and others – that would attack Israel in the final days of this age. Amazingly Ezekiel knew that Israel had lost their land (Ezekiel prophesied from exile in Babylon) but fully believed that they would remain a nation until the Messiah ruled in Jerusalem. We shockingly see the signs of this battle about to take place in our world today. Iran has been determined to destroy Israel and they have been allied with Russia for a while now. These events will shortly come to pass. Here is how the Fire Bible describes this prophesy.

“Gog … Magog. In this chapter, Ezekiel describes a coalition (i.e., political union) of nations that will make a final assault on Israel after the people have been restored to their homeland. These nations will attempt to destroy Israel and take their land. The leader of these nations is named Gog. In the end, however, the invading nations will not succeed; God himself will defeat them.”

Time and time again the nations of the world have attempted to destroy Israel. Egypt tried to destroy Israel at the time of Moses and lost their army and leader in the Red Sea, The Philistines attacked Israel for many years and have never succeeded. Then there was Babylon, Assyria, Greece, and even the Roman Empire. All of these nations have fallen into ruin and Israel still lives. In modern history there were the Nazis who killed 6 million Jews, out of that attack came the restoration of the land of Israel. So why does Israel continue to live while others fade into history? It all boils down to the plan and promises of God. Ultimately many thousands of Jews will accept Christ as their Messiah, that has been what all of this is about all along.
