THE RETURN OF CHRIST

Rev.19:11-16 – And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many crowns; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written: “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

The return of Christ will be the greatest of days and the worst of days depending on where you stand with the Lord. The last prophesy in the Old Testament actually describes this contrast. Malachi says that for those who do not know the Lord it will be a consuming fire, he says that they will be like chaff and will be set ablaze by the fire of God. For those who know Him this fire of His coming will have a different kind of affect, the fire of God will actually have a healing affect. The righteous will be transformed into the glorious image of God by the fire of His presence. The Apostle John describes this moment like this, 1 John 3:2,3 – “Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope set on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”

So the obvious question that is begging to be asked is this, how is it with your soul? Are your lamps trimmed and burning as you are waiting for the coming of the Lord? The book of Revelation clearly shows us that the battle lines have been established, the spirit of antichrist is making its final attempt to destroy man and thwart God’s plan. It’s time for each of us to make our peace with God, the Lord’s appearance is drawing near.
