“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day-and he saw it and was glad.” John 8:56
Seeing into the unseen world and rejoicing in what you see has to be supernatural! 2 Corinthians 4:18 states: “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal”. “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them,” Heb. 11:13 .Abraham saw in the far distance a Redeemer whose advent would make the earth rejoice. Luther called it having “the vision of faith with the heart”. Calvin said, “Faith has its degrees in beholding Christ.” So the question is, what in the world are you looking at? Many of us have had dreams, words from scripture and direction but somehow we allow them to slip from us. Jesus knew the Jews would totally misunderstand everything He was saying but that wasn’t the point. The point was the Jews were blind to using the faculty of faith. Abraham saw it in the promise, he saw it in the stars, he saw it when the angels spoke to him, he saw it in Melchizedek, he saw it in the enlarging of Sarah’s womb, he saw it in the birth of Issac and he laughed. In fact he grew young by seeing Christ’s day! He saw a prophetic glance into the future that created a course for his life of faith. I pray you too join the many others in the great hall of faith, rejoicing in all that you have seen with Christ, embracing the promises of God as you see the soon coming King!
