I WILL COME AND HEAL YOU

Heb. 1:3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

One of the most amazing, and frankly hardest things to believe, is that a man is ruling the universe. Now this is not just any ordinary man; this is the heavenly man, Jesus Christ. Christ became a human when He was conceived in the womb of Mary by the Holy Spirit. After He was crucified and raised from the dead, He was given authority over all things by His Father in heaven. He sat down at the Father’s right hand, representing mankind, and began to rule the universe by the word of His power. Christ displayed this authority over creation during His earthly ministry. Matthew Henry points out how a Roman centurion recognized this authority in Christ.

“The centurion’s faith in the power of Christ he here illustrates by the dominion he had, as a centurion, over his soldiers, as a master over his servants; he says to one, Go, and he goes, They were all at his beck and command, so as that he could by them execute things at a distance; his word was a law to them; well-disciplined soldiers know that the commands of their officers are not to be disputed, but obeyed. Thus could Christ speak, and it is done; such a power had he over all bodily diseases. The centurion had this command over his soldiers, though he was himself a man under authority; not a commander-in-chief, but a subaltern officer; much more had Christ this power, who is the supreme and sovereign Lord of all. The centurion’s servants were very obsequious, would go and come at every the least intimation of their master’s mind.”

This centurion understood authority. He commanded his soldiers by delegated authority from Rome. He recognized the spiritual authority when He was confronted with Christ. He knew that sickness and disease had to obey His powerful words.
What kind of challenge are you facing today? Are you struggling with sickness ? Does it seem everything is against you? Like the centurion, it is time to come bow down before Jesus. Recognize the power and authority in His word. Call out to Him. Don’t be surprised when you hear Him respond, ” I will come and heal you”.
