Luke 2:8-11 ¶ Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

This scripture is read all over the world every year as we celebrate the birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. I love the simplicity of this passage. Ordinary people, common shepherds, were visited on just an “ordinary night” Actually, this night proved to be anything but ordinary. The shepherds were startled into reality by a sudden explosion of glory and joy, “Today a Savior is born in the City of David”. Shocking, sudden, and incredibly joyful news, the shepherds stepped from obscurity into the light of God’s perfect day. It was as if heaven could no longer contain its secret, joy was exploding out of heaven and beginning to cover the earth with His glory. Here is something Edwards said about the glory of The Lord.

“The emanation or communication of the divine fullness, consisting in the knowledge of God, love to him, and joy in him, has relation indeed both to God and the creature: but it has relation to God as its fountain, as the thing communicated is something of its internal fullness. The water in the stream is something of the fountain; and the beams of the sun are something of the sun. And again, they have relation to God as their object: for the knowledge communicated, is the knowledge of God; and the love communicated, is the love of God; and the happiness communicated, is joy in God. In the creature’s knowing, esteeming, loving, rejoicing in, and praising God, the glory of God is both exhibited and acknowledged; his fullness is received and returned… The beams of glory come from God, are something of God, and are refunded back again to their original. So that the whole is of God, and in God, and to God; and he is the beginning, and the middle, and the end.”

These shepherds began a new chapter in their lives that night, everyone who is touched by the glory does. Life is different once you have peered into eternity. Joy was all around the shepherds that day and now it was in them. As they hurried to Bethlehem to see this promised One for themselves it was as if their feet never even touched the ground. They ran, they danced, and they shouted. God had come down, they had been kissed by Glory and then they saw Him. Looking upon this Child in the manger was more than they could ever think. God had kissed the earth, creator had entered creation, God had loved the world with the birth of His only begotten Son.

  4. I love when Heavenly supernatural things pay you a visit. In fact I love even more when God Himself visits you. At first you just do not know what to do, If your time is up or if your undone ( Isaiah Vision of God). I can tell you one thing, afterwards you thoughts race, your heart stops, and you cry, cry, cry. Thinking to yourself the God of all creation came down to pay you a visit.

Why? What does He want me to do? Why me? Why did God pay Me a visit? Then when you seek Him with complete brokenness, and Only in that Humbled state of worship then can you hear Him clearly. At that moment you realize what in the world was I thinking?

The old time prophets were indeed men that sought God with their whole heart. When a man seeks God just look where it leads Him. To God. But then when God speaks that man just became His voice. When does that man know He give His life for His God?
When did Jesus read that He would die for His God?

God loves when people give up their lives for Him. After all He gave up His life for them. Will you die for Him? It is now time for the whole world to make a choice. The Lord calls out to His children in their prosperity. He is calling to Israel right now.
