The faith of the Son of God —Galatians 2:2
Faith is an interesting, supernatural phenomenon. It is different from our believing, real faith is actually the very faith of God. When Jesus walks into the room our faith awakens. Things that seemed far off or unrelated to our lives become nearer than our breath and awaken the very fire of God in our hearts. Faith and love are in Christ and when He is alive in us, His faith becomes our faith. He is praying through us, worshiping through us, preaching through us, prophesying through us, and loving the world through us. We begin to live and rest in the power of God’s word and rest in His faith. What He has accomplished through the cross and resurrection are alive and working in me. Because He lives, I live also. Here are some thoughts from A. B. Simpson on the faith of the Son of God.
“It is the faith of Christ, springing in our hearts and trusting in our trials. So shall we always sing, The life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. If we keep looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, we shall discover that instead of struggling to appropriate the promises of God, we shall lie down upon them in blessed repose, and be borne up by them with the faith which is no more our own than the than the promises upon which it rests. Each new need will find us leaning again on Him for the grace to trust and to overcome. Further, we see here the true spirit of prayer. It is the Spirit of Christ in us. In the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. Christ still sings these praises in the trusting heart and lifts our prayers into songs of victory! This is the true spirit of prayer….When Jesus, the spirit of faith is in us, He will also become the spirit of praise.”
So it takes an adjustment in our hearts, instead of doing we start yielding. We begin yielding to the very power of God and watch in amazement as He displays His faith in and through our lives. So cease striving and start resting. We are resting in the greater One Who is living and working in us.
