Isa.60:6 – A multitude of camels shall cover you, the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba shall come. They shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall bring good news, the praises of the LORD.

This is an amazing prophecy given by the prophet Isaiah. He saw by the Spirit the harvest of the earth. He saw a great multitude of gentiles coming into the house of the Lord. Isaiah could not see perfectly; like all of us he saw through a glass darkly. He could not understand the New Testament house of God but he declared it by the Holy Spirit. He saw the multitudes of the earth bringing their praises and their wealth into the house of God. The early church tasted the edge of this. The great harvest began in the 1800’s in the foreign missions movement and it continues today. Matthew Henry wrote his commentary in the 1700’s and believed a greater fulfillment than just the early church was still ahead. This is how Henry describes it.

“When they bring their gold and incense it shall not be to show the riches of their country, nor to gain applause to themselves for piety and devotion, but to show forth the praises of the Lord. Our greatest services and gifts to the church are not acceptable further than we have an eye to the glory of God in them. And this must be our business in our attendance on public ordinances, to give unto the Lord the glory due to his name; for therefore, as these here, we are called out of darkness into light, that we should show forth the praises of him that called us. God will advance the honor of his own name by it; so he has said: I will glorify the house of my glory. The church is the house of God’s glory, where he manifests his glory to his people and receives that homage by which they do honor to him.”

We are on the edge of the final harvest of the earth. Today, multitudes from the nations are bringing their worship and their resources into God’s house. The greatest harvest is yet to come. You and I have the privilege of being reapers in this great hour. We start by bringing our worship and our resources to our local church. We continue as we declare our testimony far and wide. The harvest is plentiful, the fields are white; will you join the reapers for this final push?
