SHAKE THE NATIONS

Hag.2:6,7 – For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

Paul said that the creation itself was groaning with anticipation for the coming of the kingdom of God. This is what Haggai is speaking of in today’s passage, a famous prophesy about the coming of the Lord. If you think about the magnitude of what happened when the Creator entered into His own creation, the heavens and the earth had to respond. In the nativity story in the gospels we see the star in the sky, wise men coming from a distant land, King Herod being troubled, all Jerusalem being put in upheaval, and angels singing; creation was being shaken by the coming of the Lord.

Today our world is shaking again. There are wars in the nations, political upheaval in our country, fires, storms, and Covid-19. Several nights ago we had the Star of Bethlehem for the first time in hundreds of years. Maybe God is speaking, maybe He is trying to get our attention. Here is a poem the Lord gave me for Christmas 2020.

SHAKE THE NATIONS

ONCE MORE – SAID THE PROPHET

WILL I SHAKE THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH

ALL OF GOD’S CREATION

IS SHAKEN BY HIS BIRTH

THE UNVEILING OF HIS WORD

IN THIS UNEXPECTED PLAN

NO ONE COULD CONCEIVE

THAT GOD WOULD BECOME A MAN

FROM THE COBBLER

TO THE BAKER

FROM THE PAUPER TO THE KING

ALL CREATION IS EFFECTED

EVEN ANGELS HAVE TO SING

TO THE PRIESTS AND THE RULERS

TO THE COMMON ‘EVERYMAN’

HE SHAKES EVERY KINGDOM

BECAUSE GOD BECAME A MAN

ONCE MORE – SAID THE PROPHET

WILL I SHAKE THE HEAVENS, EARTH, AND SEA

MY CALL GOES TO THE NATIONS

LET THE HARVEST COME TO ME

The question being posed for all of us; how will the events of 2020 effect our lives? I’m not talking about the direct effect of Covid or storms, I am talking about our affections being effected by the Lord. That is all the Lord is after at the end of the day, that’s all He is ever after. As He said in Prov.23:26 – “My son, give me your heart,”

2021 is going to be a different kind of year, let’s start it off allowing the shaking to take control of our affections for Him.
