Ezek. 38:1,2 – Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
Ezek.38:8,9 – After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel… And you will go up, you will come like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your troops, and many peoples with you.”
Like everyone else I have been thinking a lot about the Ukraine over the last several days. I have fond memories of a church planting trip with Parris and a team from our church back in the early nineties. I remember the Ukrainians as gentle people with a hunger for God. One of the striking things about the unfolding events in the Ukraine has been the bravery of their President Volodymyr Zelensky in this hour of crisis. It turns out that his grandfather miraculously survived WWII fighting the Nazis and several of his relatives died in the holocaust. I don’t think it is accidental that this man is Jewish. Apparently the enraged Putin, knowingly or unknowingly, has taken up the mantle of Adolf Hitler himself. He wants to kill Zelensky and ultimately all Jews everywhere. This driving demonic spirit will not be satisfied short of destroying the nation of Israel. Check out the comments from Tim LaHaye on today’s passage.
“The Hebrew prophet Ezekiel was given a detailed prophecy twenty-five hundred years ago foretelling that Russia would become a dominant player on the world scene in the last days. He even predicted that her allies would march with her against the mountains of Israel. Their objective would be to finish what Adolf Hitler had been unable to accomplish, the destruction of the Jews from the face of the earth.
Yet these invaders will be even less successful than the Nazis, for Ezekiel also predicted that God would supernaturally destroy the attacking armies of Russia in order to show His omnipotent power to the world and to demonstrate that He has unfinished plans for the nation of Israel.”
This present war could erupt into an invasion of Israel. If not now, the signs of its imminence are upon us. What does that mean for us. Jesus is returning. He may return in conjunction with the attack on Israel. He will respond. For us, the harvest is the end of the age. There will be an intensification of people coming to Christ before the Lord returns. What will you be giving your attention to when this all unfolds?

I would tie this into John 9. Jesus then said, “I came into the world to bring everything into the clear light of day, making all the distinctions clear, so that those that have never seen will see, and those that have made a great pretense of seeing will be exposed as blind” His church absolutely has responsibility’s that we are accountable to accomplish. Work while…..
