UKRAINE AND THE END OF DAYS

Ezekiel.38:1-6 – Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: “Behold, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. So I will turn you around and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them magnificently dressed, a great contingent with shield and buckler, all of them wielding swords; Persia, Cush, and Put with them, all of them with buckler and helmet; Gomer with all its troops; Beth-togarmah from the remote parts of the north with all its troops–many peoples with you.

We are watching prophesy from 2500 years ago begin to unfold before our eyes. Just as David said, in the second Psalm “The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers conspire together against the LORD and against His Anointed”.

The spirit of the world hates Israel and hates the church. This is at the bottom of the anger and aggression seen in Putin. This hatred will ultimately drag him, or his replacements, to Israel. On the other hand we see the plan of God also in Psalm 2, “Ask it of Me, and I will certainly give the nations as Your inheritance”. The Lord is ramping up His plan for the final harvest while the nations plot against the kingdom of God. Supernatural, unprecedented harvest is promised before the end of the age, I have a feeling things are going to get even more interesting in the days ahead. Here are some thoughts from Tim LaHaye on Ezekiel’s prophesy.

“We have, then, both internal and external evidence for believing that Russia indeed is the nation that will fulfill the prophet Ezekiel’s warning for the last days.

What is even more remarkable is that Gog’s allies—Persia, Libya, Gomer [thought to be Turkey], Ethiopia, and Togarmah—are all Arab Muslim countries today and they “just happen” to be Russia’s faithful allies. Their binding, overriding, passionate, and common hatred is Israel. Indeed, 55 million of Russia’s own 250 million people are Arabs, most of whom hate Israel. For centuries prophetic scholars have been convinced that Russia and those who control her will lead the march of the Arab world down to the mountains of Israel, where God will show Himself powerful to all the world by destroying their armies.”

There will be an alliance of nations that attack Israel in the coming days. Ezekiel describes the Russian alliance, Revelation describes an enormous army from China moving in on Israel. How should this effect us? First, we should recognize that God’s plans and words cannot be thwarted, there is nothing to fear. Secondly, our energy should be focused on those that don’t know Christ. His return is certain and human lives are on the line. The final harvest may begin very soon.
