Ex.13:21,22 – And the LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, so that they might travel by day and by night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from the presence of the people.

Sometimes in our social media driven world we tend to think everyone’s opinions about things are as valid as everyone else’s. Now don’t misunderstand, I absolutely believe in free speech but just because you said it doesn’t make it right. When it comes to Christianity, God’s word, and the church there needs to be a sense of the supernatural on what we believe and say and do. The cloud of glory that led the children of Israel was the mark among the nations of the supernatural nature of the faith of the people of God. Today, the presence of God among us, upon us, and within us puts that supernatural mark of distinction upon our lives. Our lives have taken on a supernatural nature. Our churches are supernatural and our lives are supernatural. Here is how A. B. Simpson describes this.

“It (the cloud) was a supernatural symbol. They were to be guided henceforth by Jehovah Himself. This was their peculiar distinction, that “the Lord alone did lead them.”….The pillar of cloud and fire did not represent even an angel’s guidance and guardianship. It was the sign of God’s own presence.  In the same way the Church of the living God has a supernatural leadership. The Christian has a divine guide. Our holy Christianity is not a collection of wise human opinions, and an organization combining the strongest forces of human wisdom and power. It is nothing, if it is not divine. Give us a supernatural religion, or none at all.”

Our world is being overrun by godless human opinions leading civilization to the brink of absolute destruction. This secular philosophy has invaded everything from politics, entertainment, our judicial system, and our schools. Many churches have been infiltrated with the compromise of secular human reasoning. The church must find its moorings. What is the solution? We need the power of His presence unashamedly among us. The Holy Spirit in our lives and in our gatherings is the mark of the supernatural nature of our Christian faith. Lord, fill our churches with the cloud of Your glory!!!
