Acts 7:55,56 – But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God; and he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”

To me this is one of the most pivotal and dramatic scenes in the New Testament. Steven had been preaching to the Hellenistic Jews at their synagogue. These are Jewish by ethnicity, but culturally like the gentiles. This was the first move toward worldwide Christianity. Steven was killed because of his preaching, his death ultimately brought Paul to Christ, the apostle to the gentile world.

Several years ago, Jack Hayford prophesied about Jesus standing up in this last hour in preparation for His return. He said that this would result in a major increase of the anointing flowing out from Him and onto His church. Tim Sheets prophesied in agreement with Brother Hayford’s word. Here is a short clip of that prophesy.

“The Holy Spirit said we are now entering into the season which we will shift from just Acts 2 to Acts 7. We are moving from the seated King to the standing King who runs before us. In these days the King is going to make another stand, the biggest stand He has ever made upon this earth. He’s going to do it through ekklesias He has been forming. In this season, this Third Great Awakening, this end-time surge, the King is going to stand up. The King is going to make His stand to shake the heavens and the earth. He’s going to stand and deal with rebel kings. He stands up with His people, He stands to side with His church in tangible, real ways. When He stands, the anointing that is on Him, the anointing that is in His lap, begins to splash upon the Body of Christ. We aren’t getting drips, we are getting splashes. It is the season of the gushing flow of the King who makes His stand. When the King stands it splashes.”

So I believe that there are churches that are specially positioned for this season of outpouring that we are entering. It could be the last moments before Christ returns; if that is true, this will truly be the greatest day for the body of Christ. Don’t think it will be easy; ask Steven about that. I’m just saying it will be bigger and better than any of us expect.

  1. A full body shutter runs through me as I envision my Lord go from seated to standing. May I be found standing and prepared, just as we have been told to live each day in this manner.
