V. HEALED BY RESURRECTION POWER

Rom.8:11 – But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

VI. WALKING IN NEWNESS OF LIFE – RESURRECTION LIFE

Rom.6:4 – Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.

VII. RESURRECTION POWER IN ME

Eph.1:19,20 – what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

VIII. DECLARED RIGHTEOUS BY THE RESURRECTION

Rom.4:25 – He who was delivered over because of our wrongdoings, and was raised because of our justification.

VIII. LET RESURRECTION EFFECT YOUR AFFECTIONS

Col.3:1-3 – If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

The secret to living our life by the power of the resurrection is seen in this last verse in Colossians 3. Look at it again. I chose to use the KJV in this verse because of the word affection that is connected to this resurrection life. Most translations use the word mind rather than affection because the word Paul used is quite loaded with meaning. It is the word phroneo that involves the mind, the will, and our affections. Its not just thinking about Christ seated at the Father’s right hand that changes us, it is allowing the resurrection power of Jesus to sweep up our affections as well. This is the true beauty of the conversion experience. Not only our beliefs are changed, the very things that we love are changed as well. We don’t just believe that Christ was raised from the dead and ascended to the Father’s right hand, we love Him. His resurrection is real to us and His love for us and our love for Him makes this whole resurrection very real in our lives. We love Him because He first loved us, died for us, and was raised from the dead for us.
