Ps.69:34 – TPT – Let all the universe praise him!

The high heavens and everyone on earth, praise him!

Let the oceans deep, with everything in them, keep it up!

To me, the more one draws near to the Lord the more he becomes aware of creation all around Him. The Lord not only created everything, He is involved intimately with it. Some may think that the Lord just blasted everything into existence (like the bing bang) and then just stands far off and observes. That is absolutely not the case. He is Omni-present in His universe, He is literally everywhere. You could fly to the moon (or another solar system) and He would be there. David said you could make your bed in hell and still God would be there (Ps.139:8). He is also intricately involved with sustaining His creation. Jesus said the smallest bird doesn’t fall to the ground without the Father knowing about it. Once you see Him for yourself you will see Him in His creation and in His works. Here is how Spurgeon describes this verse.

“The doxology of a glowing heart. The writer had fathomed the deeps, and had ascended to the heights; and, therefore, calls on the whole range of creation to bless the Lord. Our Well Beloved here excites us all to grateful adoration: who among us will hold back? God’s love to Christ argues good to all forms of life; the exaltation of the Head brings good to the members, and to all in the least connected with him. Inasmuch as the creation itself also is by Christ’s work to be delivered from bondage, let all that have life and motion magnify the Lord. Glory be unto thee, O Lord, for the sure and all . including pledge of our Surety’s triumph; we see in this the exaltation of all thy poor and sorrowful ones, and our heart is glad.”

The worshipper will see His creativity in the sunrise, he will hear His voice in the croaking of the bullfrogs and gators, and will stand in amazement at the changing of the seasons and all that brings. Then when you travel to another place that is different from yours His voice becomes even louder. You hear Him in the pounding waves, the melody of the waterfall, and the awesome sounds of silence in the forest. He is everywhere around us; let’s join with His universe and sing His praise.

  1. Yes, and He too is in the writing of those who have gone before us and on this Monday morning May 15, 2023. At times like these, a dictionary and slow reading are our friend to comprehend that which is being said. Praise Him.

  2. Amen! The earlier I walk near the lake, the more I hear creation screams in a chorus of worship! When the sun is rising, and it seems quiet, one must Stop and listen. The flow of my day is perfect when I remember:
    Psalm 66:4 ESV
All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.” and, “This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).
