Amos 9:13 – The Message – “Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” GOD’S Decree.
“Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings!
Parris grabbed hold of this promise in January of 2020. Covid was just about to change everything and Ida would make her unwelcome appearance the next year. We were all surging with excitement as this prophesy was swirling in all of our heads. Just like it has always been with God’s prophetic words, we see through a glass darkly. There are often times (dare I say most times) that there are other factors in play and the word of the Lord is intended to strengthen us in the middle of all the unseen stuff that breaks in on us. So is it possible that all of the drama and chaos caused by Covid 19 and Hurricane Ida was just putting us all in a position for this word of blessing to be fulfilled? Absolutely!!! This prophetic word about God’s church in the last days is still certain. I think we are beginning to taste the fulfillment of this word at this present time. Here is how Henry describes this prophesy.
“This must certainly be understood to refer to the abundance of spiritual blessings in heavenly things, which all those who are sincerely added to Christ and his church are and will be blessed with. They will be abundantly filled with the goodness of God’s house, with the graces and assurance of his Spirit. They will have bread, the bread of life, to strengthen their hearts and the wine of divine encouragement and strength to make them glad — meat indeed and drink indeed — all the benefits that come to the human soul from the word and Spirit of God. These had long been confined to the vineyard of the Jewish church; divine revelation, and the power that accompanied it, were to be found only within that enclosure; but in Gospel times the mountains and hills of the Gentile world will be made rich with these privileges by the Gospel of Christ preached, professed, and received in power.”
So maybe we are ready for that head spinning harvest of blessing, blessing heaped upon blessing, to break in on us. This year could very well be the beginning of a very interesting God season.
For me it already is quite interesting. Road never traveled, it has always been on my map. I guess I just ignored it, repetitive habits provide comfortable order but lack intrigue or broaden perspective. I say lets see what is out there and available from Jesus!
Yes indeed! I believe this!!
