Rev.5:1-4 – I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to break its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it. Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. And one of the elders *said to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to be able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
Recently Parris was ministering in our Wednesday night prayer service and started talking about the scroll that was handed to Jesus at the beginning of His ministry. She said that the scroll contained the scroll or script of your life. That is what the book of Revelation is about, Jesus opening the scroll of all humanity. Your future is also in the Revelation scroll, having it opened so you have a glimpse of God’s plan for you changes your world. When I realize that my future as well as my past is already recorded by the Lord it causes great assurance or an incredible sense of fear in my life. My future is just as secure as my past because it is all in His scroll. This is where the beauty of knowing Him comes into play, I know a taste of His plans for me, the things written in the scroll, because I get a sense of them every time I draw near to the Lord. He has a plan for you and for me, a plan for good and not for evil. His purposes will be realized in our lives. Here is how the Fire Bible describes today’s passage.
“This scroll is of highest importance, for it contains the revelation of what God has determined as the future course of the world and humanity. It describes how the world will be judged and portrays the final triumph of God and his people over all evil. The seals, which held the scroll closed, represent a mark of authority; therefore, the contents cannot not be accessed without proper authorization. The fact that there are seven scrolls speaks of the absolute security of the contents. When each seal is opened, a portion of the book’s contents is revealed in a vision.”
This scroll also carries high importance for you. What kind of things does He have written in your scroll? He wants to come near to you and begin to speak them into your life. This is the place of visions and dreams, the unveiling of the plans of God for your life.
