Jn.10:10-14 – Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”
Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

I think that laying on of hands is a great way to drink in God’s presence. This is not just about a point of contact to release your faith, there is actually a transfer of anointing through the laying on of hands. The anointing in the person praying is transferred to the receiver. Your receiver must be turned on or you will receive nothing. We have to choose carefully who lays their hands on us in prayer, they could have nothing to offer or maybe they live an ungodly life, that’s not who I way laying hands on me. Paul famously placed his hands on believers in Ephesus and they were filled with the Spirit. Check this verse out.
Acts 19:6 – And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
Soaking is a lost art than many need to rediscover or discover for the first time. Soaking is putting yourself in a place where the anointing is present and then just staying still in that atmosphere. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, nothing else is needed. You will find yourself in the very glory of the Lord. Here is David’s description of this.
Ps.27:4 – One thing I have desired of the LORD,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in His temple.
The final thing I want to mention is the connection of the joy of the Lord to God’s presence. Heaven is a place with no sorrow but it is a place of extreme joy. Actually heaven’s atmosphere is permeated with the joy of the Father and the Son. Here is a verse from Isaiah describing the connection of joy and the Holy Spirit.
Isa.12:3 – Therefore with joy you will draw water
From the wells of salvation.
Often when the Lord is present His joy will come upon you and fill you through and through. This is critical, yield to the joy with laughter. As you do you will draw waters from the wells of God. Drinking has to become a way of life. Drink his presence daily and your world will change.
