THE CHILDREN WILL PROPHESY

Acts 2:17 – AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,’ God says,
‘THAT I WILL POUR OUT MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND;
AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS WILL PROPHESY,
AND YOUR YOUNG MEN WILL SEE VISIONS,
AND YOUR OLD MEN WILL HAVE DREAMS;

Historically children and youth have played a key role in the move of God. Evan Roberts was just a youth accompanied by a band of teenagers and young people who set Wales on fire around 1904. Reports of this outpouring spread far and wide and people from the nations came to Wales to see for themselves the work of God. George Whitefield was in his early twenties when he became the catalyst to bring awakening to Great Britain and North America. Children are sensitive to the anointing and often times will embrace what the Lord is doing. Children and youth played a great effect in the Great Awakening in the 1700’s in the American colonies. Jonathan Edwards speaks of youth and children being effected mightily for the Lord. Edwards even used children in leading home meetings. Here is a quote from Edwards about the young being touched and used by God.

“Near the conclusion of the exercise (home meeting) one or two persons that were professors (outward Christians) were so greatly affected with a sense of the greatness and glory of divine things, and the infinite importance of the things of eternity, that they were not able to conceal it; the affection of their minds overcoming their strength, and having a very visible effect on their bodies. When the exercise (meeting) was over, the young people that were present removed into the other room for religious conference; and particularly that they might have opportunity to inquire of those that were thus affected what apprehensions they had; and what things they were that thus deeply impressed their minds: and there soon appeared a very great effect of their conversation; the affection was quickly propagated through the room: many of the young people and children that were professors appeared to be overcome with a sense of the greatness and glory of divine things, and with admiration, love, joy and praise, and compassion to others that looked upon themselves as in a state of nature; and many others at the same time were overcome with distress about their sinful and miserable state and condition; so that the whole room was full of nothing but outcries, faintings and such like.…”

Children have historically been used as a sign and a wonder to display the greatness of God and His plan of redemption. As Jesus said, quoted in Hebrews, “I and the children God has given to me are for signs and wonders”. The Lord wants His people, individually and corporately, to be those signs and wonders. It is the goodness of God seen in us through His anointing on people’s lives that softens the hardness of our soul. Just as the Lord has done in ages past I believe an unprecedented move of God will break out in colleges, high schools, middle schools, and even down into the elementary schools. America is over due for a move of the Sprit of God, I think the greatest hour for the church is about to appear suddenly, Jesus will return, His justice and mercy will be on full display.
