THE LORD WILL SHAKE THE EARTH

Heb.12:25,26 – See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns us from heaven. And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE HEAVEN.”

If you have any spiritual perception at all you will surely recognize the historic moment that is upon us. If you watch the activity of the nations it is quite obvious the final battle is coming near. I have been thinking of Armageddon lately after watching a documentary of a recent discovery of the oldest church in Israel in the valley of Armageddon. As I watched the documentary my mind wandered to the events leading up to that great day, Iran and the enemies of Israel are ramping up their rhetoric and attacks on the Jewish nation, China is amassing her armies and resources for their involvement in that final day, and Russia and its insane attacks on Ukraine and their buildup of an army that they say will soon be 1 and a half million strong. Recently, I also began to take another look at the volcanic eruption of Krakatoa and its effect on the world. The devastating and sudden effect of Krakatoa on the whole world is a picture of God suddenly breaking in on us in the last days. In today’s verse the Lord says there will be one final shaking of everything at the end of the age, the consequences of that shaking cannot be overestimated. Here are some of the ways Google describes how Krakatoa effected the world.

Global Impacts:

Climate Cooling:
The massive amount of ash and debris released into the atmosphere caused a temporary global cooling effect, dropping average temperatures by as much as 0.5°C (0.9°F) for the year following the eruption.

Visual Effects:
The ash cloud in the atmosphere created vivid and colorful sunsets and halos around the sun and moon, which were observed worldwide.

Sound Waves:
The eruption produced a sound so loud that it was heard across the globe, making it one of the loudest sounds ever recorded.

Atmospheric Disturbances:
The ash cloud led to increased rainfall in some parts of the world and prolonged periods of darkness.

So if you believe that this shaking is drawing near how should it effect our lives? The last thing I want in my life is for the great day of the Lord to catch me unprepared. So I suppose its time to make sure that there is oil in our lamps because certainly the coming of the Lord is upon us.
