Eph.1:18 – Amp – By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),
Revival changes everything. Unfortunately many people are using revival terminology today without a clue of what a true move of God is really like. Revival is when God splits the sky and comes down among His people. It’s more than a belief that God is here, His unmistakeable presence invades the earth and effects everything He touches. I have been considering the parallels between the earth changing volcanic eruption called Krakatoa and the outpouring of God. Krakatoa effected the entire world not only with the shaking sand the tsunamis, but also with effects on the climate of the earth. Here is a quote from Google describing how the climate change also effected the way things appeared.

The ash cloud in the atmosphere created vivid and colorful sunsets and halos around the sun and moon, which were observed worldwide.
When someone is impacted by a revival outpouring it effects the way everything in the world appears to them. The eyes of our hearts are opened and we see through a new spiritual vision. Here is how the reformer WOLFGANG MUSCULUS described this effect.
“Paul uses the comparison of the enlightenment of the body when the eyes of a blind person’s body are opened and he receives the gift of sight, without which he cannot see any of the things around him even though they are fully exposed to the light. The same thing happens to our mind in spiritual things. It is so shrouded in darkness that it can no more see or recognize the things of God than blind eyes of the body can see or understand earthly things. Therefore they need to be enlightened, and if they are not enlightened by the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, then they will be deprived of all knowledge of spiritual things.”
The outpouring of the Spirit is often called an awakening. Awakening describes the effect of the Holy Spirit on all of our lives. We suddenly become aware of the Lord everywhere. Our spiritual eyes are opened and we behold the glory of the Lord. This is what Jesus was referring to when He said you have eyes to see but you can’t see. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to open our eyes that we can behold the glory of the Lord.
