Acts 4:19,20 – But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, make your own judgment; for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.
The anointing of the Holy Spirit has substance, it can be felt and it can increase in us, on us, and through us. Learning to walk with the Holy Spirit is critical in order for the Holy Spirit’s power to increase in our lives. I have learned that there are some critical things I can do to put myself in a position for the anointing to increase in my life. First, worship has to become a lifestyle for us. It is in worship that we begin to become more and more aware of the power of the Lord. Also its important to get yourself in meetings where the Holy Spirit is moving. This is critical and helps us become more and more saturated in this lifestyle. Then there is focusing on the ministry of Jesus and literally soaking yourself in His miracle ministry. Jesus walked in the power of the anointing, walking in His steps is critical. Here is something Rodney Howard Browne said about the importance of reading about the miracle ministry of Jesus.
“I believe that another way to increase the anointing is to spend much time reading the Gospels and following closely the ministry of Jesus. Jesus said, “The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do” (John 5:19). I believe we can only do what we see Jesus do. The disciples followed Jesus observing the signs and wonders and miracles that He did. He said to them, “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do: because I go unto my Father” (John 14:12). He sent the Holy Ghost to empower them in order for them to go forth and do His works. Later, when Peter and them not to preach or teach in the name of Jesus, they said, “We cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20).”
I remember years ago in Bible College we were required to read the book called THE CALL about the life and ministry of Oral Roberts. The one thing that stood out to me from Brother Roberts ministry is how he spent weeks on his knees reading the gospels and the book of Acts. He wanted a ministry like Jesus and the Apostles, apparently Brother Roberts was deeply effected by soaking in the ministries of Jesus and the apostles. Maybe there is something in that for all of us today.

1 thought on “HOW TO INCREASE THE ANOINTING”
If Jesus did it, we can do it too! I remember when I first got saved, you told me to “Read the red, and pray for power.” Those first couple of years I read through the Gospels every couple of weeks, so much so that you can’t read the text on those pages any more because of the layers of highlights.
Today’s churches have lost the anointing because they have lost sight of the power of the Gospels and no longer look like Jesus.
